Wolf Reloadable!!!

Looks like Wolf (cheapass steel-cased Russian ammo) is reloadable..

...or at least some of it is. This is 55gr M196 tracer loaded up in a Wolf steel casing. I've found it's a little harder to size, but it's hardly concerning. Doesn't appear to contribute to die wear abnormally, as well. It's confusing how it varies, but preliminary examinations of "brass" have indicated the following primings:

9mm - Berdan
40 S&W - Boxer
45 ACP - Boxer
5.56mm - Boxer
7.62x39 - Berdan
7.62x54R - Berdan

I've noticed a lot of places immediately say all Wolf is Berdan, but it's not true. I suspect it's because of the inconsistency of priming technologies. Something about when people "assume" comes to mind..

I still need to get ahold of some of the 7.62x51 NATO, but that stuff's as rare as hen's teeth. I also need something that fires it. Grr.

Interesting observation! Still doesn't get around the fact that the resin-coated steel cases are still jam-o-matic in anything w/ relatively straight walls when hot, so only reliable in rapid fire for the berdan primings in your list above. [sigh] So, in the end, we still haven't come up w/ a better solution than Boxer-primed brass cases for fixed ammunition. Yes, yes, HK G11 caseless blah blah blah: it puts more heat into the weapon instead of ejecting it w/ the fired case. You win some you lose some... ;)

Y'know, I've never had any issues with reliability. At this point, I've probably shot 30k rounds of Wolf. Never personally seen any issues, either.
